mammaplasty.  This surgery aims to give you smaller, lighter, firmer, more attractive breasts and relieve you of the backache, shoulder ache, and breast crease irritation that large breasts cause. Breast reduction surgery removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts.<\/p>\n<p>Normalmente, este procedimiento se realiza para un alivio f\u00edsico que simplemente una mejora cosm\u00e9tica. The nipple is usually not totally cut from the breast, however, milk ducts attached to the nipple are commonly cut making breast-feeding more difficult.\n\n     Breast reduction surgery has permanent results, but your breasts can still change size.  Breast size usually decreases after pregnancy and after menopause.  Your breasts may get larger if you gain weight, with oral anticonceptives, cysts development in the breasts.  This procedure can be done in young women and adults with very large breasts as a method of improvement in quality of life by reducing pain associated with the large weight and burden.  Complications include bleeding, infection, or reaction to the anesthesia.  The procedure leaves permanent scars in the breasts easily covered but clothes and the surgeons attention to detail by minimizing and creating as aesthetic outcome.  Poor healing and wider scars are more common in smokers, smoking cessation prior to surgery is strongly advised. Some patients may experience a permanent loss of feeling in their nipples or breasts.<\/p>\n<p>Different approaches exist depending on patient anatomy and surgeon preference, regardless of technique the surgeon removes excess glandular tissue, fat and skin, and moves the nipple and areola into their new position.  A small tube may be placed in each breast to drain off blood and fluids for the first day or two.<\/p>\n<p>Breast reduction is generally done in a hospital, as an inpatient procedure.  Your operation will last between 3 and 4 hours under general anesthesia.  Post operative care is recommended for one night at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>After the surgery is done, gauze bandages are put over the breasts. Pain is the primary concern of patients and is handled with a detailed pain medication regiment. The most common complication is sharp, shooting pains associated with nerve regeneration felt for a few weeks. Bruising and numbness are also common lasting 2-6 weeks. Bra size will be dependent on initial swelling, it is recommended to buy your permanent bras after 6 weeks when swelling has diminished.   After 2 weeks normal activities can be resumed and exercise reinstated by week 3.<\/p>\n<p>The type and extent of the scars depend on the surgical technique and healing of each individual for most people the scar progression goes from a red and lumpy scar for 6 weeks. Followed initially by fading to a softer and flatter scar up to 6 months. After a year of surgery, scars will mature and become flat, white or pale pink.<\/p>\n<p>The improvement of quality of life of patients undergoing a breast reduction is the primary goal.
